The Luzhkov Bridge links Balchug Island to the heart of Moscow, a few steps from the Tretyakov Gallery and along the canal. This pedestrian footbridge, set apart from the bustle, was gradually taken up by the city's newlyweds, who made it the setting for their most intimate vows.
Faced with the crowd of locks hung on its railings, the city devised a response as elegant as it was unprecedented: to plant metal "lock trees" there. Specially designed to hold the promises, these trees protect the footbridge's railings while letting every couple seal their love in the open.
The Luzhkov Bridge thus tells a simple story: that of a place that managed to preserve its heritage without giving up the ritual. Padlove is its natural extension, a love lock that lives on the map and never on the railing.
